Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 23, when Women Who Write will host their fifth annual writing conference “Exploring the Writer’s Craft.” The event will be held at Indiana Wesleyan University, Louisville Education and Conference Center, 1500 Alliant Avenue, just off Blankenbaker Parkway and Interstate 64 (inside the Gene Snyder Freeway).

The conference is open to writers of all genders, members and non-members. This full-day event features expert local and regional speakers in many genres. A light breakfast, Panera lunch, and all-day beverages will be provided in the cost of the event.

Our keynote speaker will be Victoria Murden McClure, the president of Spalding University and the first woman and first American to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1999. She authored A Pearl in the Storm: How I Found My Heart in the Middle of the Ocean. The luncheon panel will be edible Louisville authors Tomese Buthod, Sarah Fritschner, and Janeen Wiche. Conference participants will be able to select from 12 workshops to attend.

Following the last session, conference participants are invited to join us at 3rd Turn Brewery to socialize and discuss the art of brewing beer with author Kevin Gibson.

Admission for Women Who Write members, seniors and students is at the discounted rate of $60, and regular admission is $75. Join us for a full day of learning and fun. Hurry, seats are limited!

The recommended hotel is Hampton Inn and Suites 1451 Alliant Ave, Louisville, KY, 40299, 502-809-9901. This is directly across the street from our venue. If you mention Women Who Write/Indiana Weslyan Conference, they will offer a corporate rate of $119.00.
