We will write, read, talk about writing, and laugh at the Hopscotch House, 8221 Wolf Pen Branch Road, Prospect, Ky., 40059, during our annual fall retreat. Scheduled for Fri., Oct. 21, 3:00 p.m., through Sun., Oct. 23, at 3:00 p.m., join us for reflection, rejuvenation, respite, and refreshment. Come for all or part of the retreat. Laura Johnsrude is preparing a Sign-up Genius for participants to bring salad, vegetables, desserts, casseroles, etc., for specific meals. We still have room for overnight guests, who need to provide their own linen, towels, and toiletries. Other suggested items include walking shoes, comfortable layered clothes, camera, laptop, and journal. Participants need to bring $15 cash for to the Kentucky Foundation for Women to support the Hopscotch House.

This is a wonderful gift of quiet and time to write. Plan now to attend.


From downtown Louisville, take I-71 N toward Cincinnati to I-264

Exit unto Brownsboro Rd. Turn left unto Brownsboro Rd. and head toward Prospect.
Take right onto Wolf Pen Branch Rd. approximately .5 mile, take left at the 4-way stop at Green Springs Subdivision to continue on Wolf Pen Branch Rd.

Approximately 1.5 miles to stop sign at Wolf Pen Branch Rd. and Spring Farm Rd. take left to continue on Wolf Pen Branch Rd. Follow for .75 mile and take a left onto the driveway at 8221 Wolf Pen Branch Rd.

Cross the creek, go up the hill and follow drive about .5 mile. Hopscotch House is the large yellow farmhouse on the right surrounded by black fencing. Park by the front of the house or towards the grass on the carport side.

    • Yes, the retreat is located just outside of Louisville, in Prospect, Kentucky.

      The Hopscotch House is located at: 8221 Wolf Pen Branch Road, Prospect, Kentucky.

  2. My 16 yr old daughter wants to be an author and is writing a book now and is graduating high school a year early in May. Can she attend if i attend with her?

    • Thanks so much for your interest, but the retreat is only open to Women Who Write members, and you must be 18 to become a member.

      We hope she continues to pursue her writing, and joins Women Who Write in the future!

  3. IWill there be a published schedule of events? I cannot stay overnight on Friday or Saturday. Thank you.

    • Hello Terrian, Glad you will be joining us. The only event scheduled is a WWW meeting at 1:00 pm on Saturday. The rest of the time will be spent writing, relaxing, walking, socializing with members. It is your time to retreat as a writer. Thanks for registering on line as we are trying to get a count on who will be present for what meals. See you soon.
