How do I get my words out to the world? It is a question many of us ask when we finish a writing piece and want to share it with readers. Find answers at the Women Who Write 7th Annual Spring Rejuvenation Writers' Conference where you will be informed and motivated.
An additional event at this year’s conference is recognition of the writing success stories of Women Who Write members in 2017. I hope you will come and help us celebrate the accomplishments of these incredible women writers. I promise their stories will inspire you.
The afternoon wine and cheese reception will provide an opportunity for attendees to read a short writing piece. Sign-ups to read will be at the registration table. There will be a five-minute limit for readings.
Send Us Your Success Stories Did you have a writing success in 2017? Women Who Write would like to celebrate your accomplishments at the 2018 Spring Rejuvenation Annual Writer’s Conference on March 24. We want to share your stories about publishing a book, having your writing selected for a literary journal or magazine, winning a writing contest, attending an artist retreat, finishing a manuscript, or any other writing success you had between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. WWW will recognize our members and share their success stories during the Writer Conference’s wine and cheese reception.
Readings & Respite Our first Readings and Respite on February19 at Fante’s Coffee was very successful. Joan Dubay, Selene Phillips, Kim Crum, Diane Cruze, Irene Sulveyich, and Holly Hinson entertained us with their writings. Special thanks to Debbie Chartoff for organizing this event. We plan to have more in the future.

If you plan to read, please remember to use the industry’s standard of double spaced, 12-point, Times Roman font when preparing copies of your work for distribution during regular meetings. Also, please limit to four pages.
Member Opportunity to join WWW Board WWW is seeking a volunteer to join our board as secretary. This is a position where you can provide leadership and support for Women Who Write. There is also the possibility that two members could work together to share the secretary’s responsibilities.

Host a Seasonal Rite We would love for members to volunteer to host a Seasonl Rite at their home or at a community location. As the host, you choose the date, place and time for us to gather. Contact a board member if you would like to host a Rite.
Seasonal Rites events give members an opportunity to bring their laptop or writing tablet and start on that new writing project, revise and edit a piece, or use a writing prompt to jumpstart new writing ideas. It is also an opportunity for members to support each other in their writing pursuits.
WWW Book Club Want to read and discuss books? Our new book club will meet on a regular basis to read a variety of books. E-mail to participate.
Community Events / Opportunities
Sarabande Books contests and residencies. Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry for a full-length poetry collection of at least 48 pages. First prize $2,000 and publication. $29 submission fee. Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction for a short story collection, novella, or short novel (150–250 standard manuscript pages). First prize, $2,000 and publication. $29 submission fee. Sarabande Writing Residencies. Two two-week summer writing residencies in a private apartment at the 300-acre Blackacre State Nature Preserve near Louisville. Open to emerging and established writers, any genre. March 15 deadline for all.
GonzoFest Literary Journalism Contest. Has there ever been a more suitable time than 2018 for fire-honed and razor-edged journalism in the tradition of the late Hunter S. Thompson? Directors of the annual GonzoFest Louisville event invite writers from all corners of the world to enter a single piece of unpublished literary nonfiction journalism (1,000-2,000 words). First prize, $1,000 and possible publication in LEO Weekly. Include a cover page with author’s name, address, and contact information, and a statement attesting to the entry’s originality. Submit to Literary Contest Portal. Deadline March 28.
The Southern Kentucky Book Festival will be April 20-21at the Knicely Conference Center, 2355 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
On Friday, April 20 bestselling authors and educators participating in the April 21 SOKY Book Fest will teach craft workshops about everything from plotting techniques to employing poetic language to getting published. The Antioch Writers' Workshop at University of Dayton is offering the Richard M. Sirota Prize and Scholarship. It consists of full tuition to the Antioch Writers’ Workshop, which will be held July 14-20, a stipend for lodging, and publication of a short story in a forthcoming issue of the AWW Collection. The deadline to submit is April 15, 2018 and winners will be announced on May 15, 2018.
