The Speed Family Heritage Recipes cookbook, written and published by a committee of members from Women Who Write, raises money for the Farmington Historic Plantation in Louisville. It commemorates the 200th birthday of Speed family home, which was visited by Abraham Lincoln. The recipes, secreted away for 100 years, were found by a family member. It tells the history of the plantation, little vignettes of the women who passed on recipes, plus the modern ways to make them. $15 proceeds go to Farmington.
