Letter from the Director – May 2016

Dear Women Who Write Members,
Although this Thursday is the Pegasus Parade, Women Who Write will meet as usual at the Highlands Shelby Park Branch of the Louisville Free Public Library in Mid City Mall from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Also this month, we are having a new member luncheon for all WWW members. Please come Saturday, May 14, to 5730 Moser Knob Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate our newest members. RSVP to Selene at 765-404-4457 or .

Our big news is that most of the speakers for the Saturday, July 23, conference have been secured. Our keynote speaker will be Victoria Murden McClure, the president of Spalding University and the first woman and first American to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1999. She authored A Pearl in the Storm: How I Found My Heart in the Middle of the Ocean. The luncheon panel will be edible Louisville authors Tomese Buthod, Sarah Fritschner, and Janeen Wiche. Conference participants will be able to select from 12 workshops to attend. Registration will be available on the WWW website in mid-May. Help us spread the word!

Bring your writing to read on Thursday! Please don’t forget the reading limit is four double-spaced pages, with editors’ preferred 12-point Times Roman font.

We look forward to seeing you. Derby hats are welcome!
